Lou Reed, Mos Def at Madison Sq & The Late Show with David Letterman

Gorillaz have confirmed that Lou Reed and Mos Def will join them for one night only performances at the October 8 stop of the Escape To Plastic Beach tour at New York's Madison Square Garden.

On October 7, the day before Gorillaz' Madison Square Garden debut, the band will make its first ever visit to the Late Show with David Letterman.

The two additional special guests at the Garden date will appear along with De La Soul, Little Dragon, Bobby Womack and other touring guests of the Gorillaz Plastic Beach band which features Mick Jones and Paul Simonon of the Clash. Those attending the once in a lifetime Madison Square Garden extravaganza can expect Reed to take center stage on "Some Kind Of Nature" and Mos Def to man the mic for "Sweepstakes," reprising their already classic turns on Gorillaz’ Plastic Beach, currently in its 28th week on the U.S. Top 200 and recently voted #1 record of 2010 thus far by NPR's listenership.

Mos Def will also perform with Gorillaz at the tour’s October 10 stop at Camden NJ’s Susquehanna Bank Center and at the October 11 date at the Patriot Center in Washington DC.

The full list of currently confirmed guests of the Gorillaz Plastic Beach band is as follows (more to be announced if/when confirmed):

deltron_0 yes I made it to MSG and this show was excellent! So why was the CT show cancelled? Was it a scheduling problem with the Gorillaz or the venue? Will there be a makeup date for CT?

Denki
Denki I really can't frigging wait to be in NYC, seeing them live! This has been my lifelong dream! I'll be missing the Late Show performance though :( I'll be on my way to NYC when it comes on. Shame I'm not going to show up with that concert T-shirt. WHERE IS MY T-SHIRT?! It was ordered on August 11th... and I grew really annoyed with this waiting, so I complained about the lack of update... and LiveNation clearly told me that and it was supposed to be shipped last week (aka maximum three days after the email), with a confirmation email and everything, as LiveNation have clearly told me after I complained about the lack of update... AND IT HAS NOT BEEN SHIPPED YET. This is... I don't have an unoffending word to express how I feel about it. Not being able to supply the merchandise in the shop is one thing, but the official concert t-shirt... This is unforgivable. I hate LiveNation. Has anyone gotten those shirts yet?! The concert is in 6 days!! What the fudge...

maddyhopson I'm seeing Gorillaz in San Diego on October 28th! A bit of a dissapointment that Lou Reed and Mos Def won't be there, but I'm excited nonetheless. Can't wait for the Late Show performance either!
