Gorillaz 'Escape To Plastic Beach' World Tour

PLASTIC BEACH SAILING THROUGH EUROPE, NORTH AMERICA, ASIA, AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND

Gorillaz are set to take their Plastic Beach around the world later this year. The band have today confirmed they will play 20 shows in North America (including their first ever show at Madison Square Garden) 10 nights across Europe including 2 nights at London’s 02 Arena before heading to Asia and down under for 7 shows.

Gorillaz fanclub, the Sub Division, will benefit from pre-sale ahead of tickets going on general sale.

This is Gorillaz first world tour. The previously announced tour will now become part of the "Escape to Plastic Beach" World Tour, with the live shows moving from September into November to include an additional show at the Brighton Centre and Antwerp Lotto.

The new show at Brighton Centre on 18th November is set to go on general sale at 9:00am on Friday 30th July and the show at Antwerp Lotto goes on sale July 31st . All other UK & Europe shows are on sale now. Full details are available at gorillaz.com/tour-dates

Gorillaz have played in front of more than 400,000 fans headlining Coachella, Glastonbury, Roskilde in Denmark and Benicassim Festival in Spain. They of course also played private rehearsals for some lucky Sub-Divisioners! This week Gorillaz become the first major Western band to play in Syria when they play the ancient Citadel in Damascus on July 25th following a sold out show at the Byblos Festival in Beirut.

Due to new tour routing the Gorillaz live shows at Glasgow SECC on September 8th, Newcastle Metro Arena on September 11th and Milan Forum on November 19th are to be cancelled. The Gorillaz “Escape to Plastic Beach” World Tour will now sail into Dublin on the 11th November, Manchester on the 12th, London on the 14th and 16th, Birmingham on the 17th, with a last show in Brighton on the 18th before heading to Berlin (21st), Paris (23rd), Antwerp (25th) and then “down under”.

Existing bookings for rescheduled dates remain valid. Your ticket vendor will be in touch to confirm your booking. UK ticket holders affected by a rescheduled/cancelled date can obtain a refund or be re-ticketed for an alternative UK date and venue. Ticket holders unable to make a rescheduled European date or affected by a cancelled date will obtain a refund.

2DFruitti I know people are mad about them canceling the show...but I'm happy about it hahahah :D Because that means people all over the world get to see'em. They do owe everybody an apology though. I think as an apology they should FINALLY update the game. And free action figures would be sweet. Seriously though... April-ish happened a LOOOONNG time ago

SiberianMau So I was thinking, the show cancelling has made people pretty upset, and many have spent money that they can't get back. I know that this in no way makes up for the loss, but maybe, as recompense alongside the refunds and Stylo cars, they could issue an apology and give us the key in the Plastic Beach game? Mm?

steviemac101 I replied......... Not Good Enough We in the North East of England, Scotland and Italy have been met with extremely shoddy service for the loyalty we have shown. A contract is a contract and you have shown yourselves as nothing more than charlatans who are after the dollar. If you are really sorry to the fans you have left utterly disappointed then at the very least you should: Reschedule the Newcastle, Glasgow and Milan shows. Many fans do not have the resources to travel further afield. A goodwill gesture over and above a Litho print that is available to all sub division members. An explanation regarding why you are able to schedule Brighton, a mere stones throw from London where Gorillaz are already performing. I do not feel you appreciate the real feeling of utter let down and anger felt by us fans and I'm sorry but I am not placated and I feel you have done a massive disservice to your fanbase that first started putting money in the bands pockets. I await your reply. Regards

steviemac101 Just received this email Gorillaz Sub Division FINAL WORD ON "STYLO" CAR Dear Sub Divisioner I know you have all been waiting on the Stylo car for a considerable time now. The production process of the car started back in February and since then we have had various issues with getting it manufactured. Originally we wanted to create a diecast model of the car but had a license application refused from the car company. We then explored the idea of creating a handmade model replica and thought we were back on track. Finally after months of modelling and re-sampling I received the car sample last week and unfortunately it has ended up looking like something that would be better sold at a Garden Centre! I don't feel it's of a high enough standard to be sent out to you all, and as we have now exhausted every avenue possible to get this right I have been forced to come up with another idea. The alternative item is a limited edition litho print, which comes numbered, stamped and with a letter of authenticity. This print will be exclusively produced for Sub Division members who signed up for the original membership that included the car. I hope you are willing to accept this new gift and I would like to offer my sincere apologies for this change and all the delays you have experienced. It's safe to say that I will never attempt to produce a car again! Ever... Jamie x Sub-Division note: If you have any queries about this replacement product please do not hesitate to contact Sub Division support. Standby for shipping info! (email address) RE-SCHEDULED EUROPEAN TOUR DATES - A MESSAGE FROM THE BAND Dear Sub Divisioners We wanted to reach out to you with regards to the rescheduled / cancelled European tour dates. Firstly, we're so sorry to hear some of you are unable to attend the rescheduled shows. Rescheduling the tour was a difficult decision to make, but in the end, these dates had to be moved to allow for the shows to happen correctly. Having listened to all your comments, all members who joined G-Club & Sub Division prior to 5pm 19th July have had their pre-sale code refreshed, enabling access to the pre-sales on newly added shows in North America, Australia and New Zealand. Sub Division is incredibly important to Gorillaz and we strive to deliver more opportunities than other fan clubs. We have put on rehearsal shows in LA and London featuring artists like Lou Reed and Bobby Womack, we have held video premieres, we have given away Glastonbury tickets, merchandise in competitions and there are many more positive benefits to come! Sadly these efforts have been tarnished by the decision to re-schedule some of the tour. In the long run this was the right thing for the shows, but a tough decision none the less. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience. Gorillaz x Trying to co-ordinate a Gorillaz live show these days is like trying to make a Busby Berkeley movie. It's intricate, the numbers are staggering and it requires everything to fall into place at the same time, every time. We don't always get it first take. On behalf of Gorillaz, (which is mainly me), I do apologise about not being able to send the troops out to these Scotland, Newcastle and Milan dates. Really. It's a shame because I've got lots of kids in both those areas, 20 or 30 of which were on the list for each date. The fact is that we would have been dishing up half a show, a compromise which we just couldn't do... As I said, I can only apologise and say that Gorillaz, as a whole, promise to do what we can to make it up to all of you who were cut short here. We appreciate the loyalty and would never mess our fans around. That's not what Gorillaz are about and never have been... Also, right, excuse the delay in make a statement about this. I know some of you feel left out in the cold, but I've been stuck on the toilet since I got back from Syria and I'm not sure I'm back to normal even yet... In the meantime, we are listening, and I look forward to seeing all you lovelies at the rescheduled dates in which, I can assure you, Gorillaz and our guests will serve you up something blinding, something that'll keep you warm for a long time to come... Lots of Love M.N. xxx

gorillaz_gal
gorillaz_gal Thanks again for ruining my birthday Gorillaz! I really appreciate you disappointing myself and many other fans. It made my day of course finding out that the concert I have longed to go to since I was nine years old and bought tickets for was cancelled with no apology or explanation. It has just proved how much they really care about their true, die-hard fans doesn't it? I was soooo looking forward to this gig. I could finally see my favourite musician, Mr Damon Albarn, on stage playing the first real music I ever listened to and loved. I suppose this means that my dream is not going to get realised seeing as the Glasgow gig was the only gig in Scotland and the only one I could possibly go to in the UK! Its been a whole week since they announced the cancelled gigs and I still feel no better about it and we have still recieved no apology or explanation, the way they are treating us is appalling and just goes to show how much the fans mean to the band when against the possibility of more money! Well thanks again Gorillaz for your wonderful support and consideration you put into the cancellation of this gig, I appreciate it! Its only my Birthday you ruined! Thanks again! Ohh that reminds me...Where in the world is my Stylo car its been over the eight weeks since they said they would be ready, just another disappointment from my favourite band it would seem! Thanks Gorillaz, you've made my year!
